After Defeating Air Force, Army Women’s Soccer Builds Momentum with Four Straight Wins

Army West Point Women’s Soccer is off to a commanding start in the 2025 season, securing four consecutive victories that highlight the team’s depth, resilience, and late-game composure.

The streak began on August 17 with a 2–0 win over Manhattan University in Riverdale, NY. Just days later, Army earned its first service academy victory of the year with a 2–1 win over Air Force on August 21. CDT Karalyn Dail ’28 was sparkling in the net for the Black Knights, making a career-high nine saves. CDT Sabrina Rogers ’27 opened the scoring, and CDT Brigid Duffy ’26 netted the game-winner in the 56th minute.

On August 24, Army staged a dramatic comeback to defeat UAlbany 3–2 on the road. After trailing late in the match, CDT Sophia Henry ’29 recorded her second brace in the past three games before Duffy delivered her second game-winning goal in as many games at 88:52.

The Black Knights continued their winning ways on August 28 with a 2–1 victory over Central Connecticut State University. CDTs Jordan Follenweider ’26 and Cami Silvestro ’26 each scored their first goals of the season, with Follenweider’s game-winner coming in the 90th minute. Army also earned 10 corner kicks, their most in a single game since the 2024 Patriot League Quarterfinals against Navy on November 3, 2024.

With a 4–1–0 record, Army Women’s Soccer has bounced back impressively after a season-opening loss, stringing together four consecutive wins that showcase the team’s resilience, depth, and ability to perform under pressure. From their first victory over Manhattan University in Riverdale on August 17 to their latest last-minute triumph against Central Connecticut State, the Black Knights are finding their rhythm early in the season and setting a confident tone for what lies ahead.
