Plebe Parent Weekend

Parent-Plebe Weekend is one of the first opportunities for families to reconnect with their cadet after the start of their West Point journey. Held each spring during Plebe (freshman) year, the weekend offers parents a chance to experience cadet life firsthand through campus tours, presentations, demonstrations, a parade, and a formal banquet in the Cadet Mess. Families will also have the opportunity to meet with the West Point Association of Graduates to learn about the programs, services, and lifelong connections available to them and their cadets throughout their time at West Point and beyond.

WPAOG Online Parent Handbook

2025 Parent Handbook

We have designed this booklet to help parents understand and meet the challenges that await you during your cadet’s experience at the United States Military Academy. Prior knowledge about the journey is a powerful tool in preparing you for the 47-month cadet experience.

Providing the Margin of Excellence

Cadets participate in numerous activities beyond the classroom and military training that further enhance their leadership development. These activities are referred to as Margin of Excellence programs, and they benefit every cadet in three main areas: Cadet Activities, Academy Scholars, and Athletics. The Parents Fund is a way we work together with you to provide the Margin of Excellence.
