Grad Insider Tour

The tour departs from the main lobby of the AOG building, Herbert Hall (698 Mills Road, West Point – on post) and is a combination of driving and walking – mostly walking. At least one of your registered guests must be an Old Grad. Guests should expect to walk as much as two miles (total) during the tour and must be confident in their ability to traverse stairways and uneven terrain without significant assistance. The recommended minimum age for the tour is eight (8) years old. We cannot provide child safety seats or other safety equipment. Please contact the RBHH Program directly to discuss specific questions about these guidelines at 845.446.1622.

Two tours are offered most business days (Mon-Fri, 9:30am and 2:00pm), except on holidays, or when restricted by scheduled or emergent West Point events. The tour averages 2.5 hours in duration. The reservation calendar will show all currently available tour opportunities.

Destinations on the tour are subject to change/closure based on the dynamics of each day, but generally include:

• Central and North Area
• Arvin Gym
• Mess Hall
• Jefferson Library
• Thayer Walk
• Cadet Uniform Factory

The Graduate ticket is $25, all guest tickets are $10 each (even for additional Grads).

Dress comfortably, and for the weather. Tours go, rain or shine, unless we encounter sustained lightning, or unless AOG is closed for a snow (or other) emergency.

Consider your need to obtain West Point Visitor passes prior to your tour. Each visitor, 18 or older, who does not possess a valid DoD ID/CAC card (active, retired, dependent), and is NOT escorted by a DoD cardholder, will need to obtain a visitor’s pass to access post. The Visitor Control Center (VCC) is open daily from 6:00am to 6:00pm. More information may be found here.

There are three tours available: 9:00am; 12:00pm; and 3:00pm. If you plan to tour on a Football Friday (especially the 9:00am tour) and know that members of your party will need to obtain visitors’ passes to access West Point, we highly recommend that you obtain those passes on the previous Thursday, if possible. Currently, the wait-time to obtain a visitors’ pass on Football Fridays regularly exceeds 90 minutes (even for Grad Passes). Barring a Thursday pick-up, please allow sufficient time to account for a long wait on Friday. The Visitor Control Center (VCC) is open daily from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

4. Bear in mind that availability for rooms is subject to change on very short notice; it is advisable to confirm and book in relatively short order.
