COL (R) Joseph R. Tedeschi ’57 released “Knowing my Father: The Collision of the O. B. Jennings and War Knight.” Wanting to know more about his long-lost father, Tedeschi explores details of the collision of the USS O.B. Jennings and HMS War Knight during World War I as their convoy evaded German U-boats. 

British Royal Navy escorts rescued his father, a U.S. Navy armed guard defending the oil tanker from the burning sea. The resulting inquiry, according to Tedeschi, shows the perils of supplying war and the heroism of those who risked and lost their lives saving others.
