Celebrating Our Enduring Link: Graduates Gather Worldwide for Founders Day
Across the country and around the world, West Point graduates are gathering to celebrate Founders Day—an annual opportunity to reconnect with classmates, meet fellow graduates in your community, and reflect on the shared experiences that bind the Long Gray Line.
This year’s theme, “Our Enduring Link,” captures the spirit of these gatherings. Whether you graduated decades ago or just recently joined the ranks of the Long Gray Line, Founders Day reminds us that the connection forged at West Point endures across generations, professions, and continents.
More than 100 Founders Day events—ranging from informal dinners to large Society gatherings—are taking place around the world, hosted by West Point Societies and supported by graduates who continue to sustain this tradition. These gatherings bring together graduates, families, and cadet candidates, strengthening the bonds of fellowship and shared purpose that have defined the Long Gray Line for more than two centuries.
One of the traditions many societies continue is recognizing the oldest and youngest graduates present, symbolizing the connection between generations of leaders who all began their journey in the same place.
If there is a Founders Day event near you, consider attending. Reconnect with classmates, meet graduates from other classes, and take a moment to celebrate the enduring link you share with fellow members of the Long Gray Line.
