The Army West Point Men’s Lacrosse team is ranked top five for the first time since 2005 when it peaked at no. 4 in the USILA poll.

The Black Knights were ranked no. 5 in this week’s USILA poll, no. 6 in the USA Lax Mag poll, and no. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse poll.

The ranking comes after a big win on the road over then no. 11/12 Rutgers. Army dominated its way to a 16-7 victory behind four goals and two assists from CDT Evan Plunkett ’26, and hat tricks from cadets Jackson Eicher ’25, Gunnar Fellows ’26, and Jacob Morin ’24. CDT Will Coletti ’25 continued to be brilliant at the face-off, going 17-25. He became the program leader in face-off wins and currently sits at 487 in his career.

The Black Knights will face-off against Mercer on February 24 for the home opener at Michie Stadium. When the Black Knights faced the Bears last season, they came away with a 16-5 win in Georgia. Read more.
