LMI Promotes Wilson ’04 to Chief Executive

Category: Grad News
Class Years:

LMI has promoted its next chief executive from within the company’s own ranks in Josh Wilson ’04, who first joined the organization in 2014 and has worked as one of its presidents for two years.

Wilson’s appointment takes effect Jan. 1. He will succeed Doug Wagoner, who has led LMI as CEO for five years and will retire from that position on Dec. 31. Wagoner will remain with LMI as chairman of its board of directors, the company said Thursday.

Wagoner’s tenure is marked by LMI’s transition from its six-decade run as a nonprofit organization to a for-profit company owned by three private investors, which acquired LMI in 2022.

Tysons, Virginia-headquartered LMI has since made two acquisitions with that backing as part of its pivot to become a provider of technology solutions for government agencies. The company embarked on that shift as a means to complement its longstanding consulting and logistics work, which shaped its founding in 1961.

Wilson currently works as president of markets, growth and technology with responsibility for LMI’s customer portfolio and research-and-development work. In that capacity, he has led the establishment of LMI’s digital offerings and reorganization of the company’s overall tech function with the goal of bolstering its innovation posture.

His career at LMI also includes a stint as executive vice president of service lines and technology, a role that covered oversight of the company’s development lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Prior to LMI, Wilson worked in Deloitte’s public sector practice and before that served as an Army officer.
