The U.S. Military Academy hosted the Hudson Valley Spring Special Olympics at Shea Stadium and Arvin Gym on April 20.

Approximately 600 athletes from Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Dutchess, Westchester, Putnam and Ulster counties participated in the event.

The competitive events were powerlifting, swimming, and track and field games. West Point cadets played a supporting role in volunteering to ensure all participants enjoyed a fun and exciting day.

This year’s Grand Marshal was Army football coach Jeff Monken.
