Mike Eggleston ’61 and members of his Class of 1961 have produced a book about their class history. The book tells the history of the West Point Class of 1961 over the past 63 years. These classmates have a long list of accomplishments, and some members of the class are recognized internationally. Some of members of the West Point Class of 1961 have published books and others have written articles. These are included in the bibliography, and excerpts are included in this history. 

The book largely focuses on Vietnam since nearly all members of the Class of 1961 on active duty at that time served there, but members also served in other conflicts during the Cold War and beyond.
