On May 5, 2023, the Office of Legal Affairs at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) presented the Serge Lazareff Prize to Brigadier General Shane Reeves ’96. Reeves is the 15th Dean of the Academic Board at the United States Military Academy and former Head of the Law Department.
The award letter cites General Reeves’s major role as a facilitator to urgent and complex legal matters in support of the Allied Command Operations Officer of Legal Affairs, SHAPE and his Director. Further, the award letter notes General Reeves’s leadership as the Dean of the Academic Board which provides a unique approach to the new threats and challenges faced by NATO. We are very grateful both for General Reeves’s leadership and for the NATO SHAPE Legal Office’s recognition of General Reeves’s work to support NATO.
