West Point Class of 1976 Gives Back

Categories: Grad News, Philanthropy & Donor Profiles
Class Years:

Last weekend, the Class of 1976 returned to West Point to celebrate its 50th reunion. One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of a record-breaking class campaign gift of $9 million in support of the new Cyber and Engineering Academic Center (Goethals Hall), the Modern War Institute/War Studies Program, and the Directorate of Cadet Activities’ military and competitive sports clubs.

LTG (R) David Melcher, Justin Huscher, and BG (R) Volney “Jim” Warner represented the Class during the presentation at the annual Alumni Luncheon in Washington Hall.

The Class of 1976 is making a meaningful impact on the three pillars of cadet development: academic, military, and physical. USMA graduates have a long tradition of giving back to West Point. The goal of the Class Giving program is to promote philanthropy and provide classes with an opportunity to leave a legacy at their Rockbound Highland Home.
