Keller Named Among Top Hospitals in US

Category: Grad News

Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point, as well as six other Army facilities, have received the 2025 Leapfrog Top Hospital award, the Defense Health Agency announced. Presented by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog, the award recognizes the nation’s highest-performing medical facilities based on criteria including benchmarks in patient and medication safety, safe surgery processes and overall performance.

“Less than six percent of hospitals around the nation merit these awards, so the recognition is incredibly meaningful,” said Dr. Paul Cordts, DHA’s deputy assistant director for medical affairs and chief medical officer.

Top Hospitals have better systems in place to prevent medication errors, higher quality maternity care and lower infection rates, among other laudable qualities. Hospitals that are eligible to receive a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade must have received an “A” in the most recent round of scoring to be eligible.

The award is not given to a set number of hospitals but rather to all teaching, general, rural and children’s hospitals that meet the high standards defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology.
