The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is pleased to announce that COL (R) Ed Teague ’95 is the new Vice President for Information Technology at WPAOG. He joined the Association in August 2025 after nine years as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Ed holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy, a M.S. degree in Operations Research from the University of Texas-Austin, and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.

During his tenure as CIO at the Academy, Ed led and developed the westpoint.edu IT program transformation and greenfield modernization; managed service for over 7,500 users, 13,000 applicants, and 20,000 devices; and chaired the Joint Service Academy Computing Consortium for the federal services academies, among other accomplishments.

“Ed’s experience at West Point, his deep understanding of the information technology enterprise and data analytics, proven ability to innovate and create change, appreciation for the role and purpose of the AOG, relationships inside of USMA, West Point, and other universities, ability to create collaboration—and most importantly, his leadership and management skills—make him the ideal individual for this essential role,” says Mark Bieger ’91, President and CEO of WPAOG.

After graduation, Ed commissioned as an Army Aviator, held leadership roles in rotary wing aviation (PL, Staff, Company Commander and Operations Officer), and served one tour with Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. He has also served as an Instructor, Program Director, Academy Professor, and IT Director in the Department of Systems Engineering at West Point. His wife, Fran, is USMA Class of 1996 and a longtime and highly respected instructor at the USMA Prep School, and their family is deeply connected to the Academy. They have four children: three graduated from West Point (’21, ’23, and ’25) and their youngest daughter is a member of the Class of 2028.
