Harris Morris graduated from the United States Military Academy as a member of the Class of 1991, “Duty Shall Be Done”. Upon commissioning, he entered the Army as an Armor officer, beginning his career at Camp Casey, South Korea (2-72 AR). He was subsequently assigned to Fort Carson, Colorado (3-68 AR), and later attended the Armor Advanced Course at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Following his advanced training, Harris was stationed in Friedberg, Germany (2-67 AR), where he served as a staff officer and went on to command two companies over five years within the battalion. Upon returning to the United States, he completed a series of assignments including Ft. Hood (AC/RC), Ft. Lewis (Stryker Brigade Coordination Cell), and Ft. Leavenworth for Command and General Staff College (CGSC). After CGSC, Harris returned to Ft. Hood for a second tour, serving as Battalion S3 for 1-67 AR and Brigade S3 for 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. His final military assignments included service at Ft. Meade, Maryland (AC/RC), where he was Chief of Operations, followed by a staff position at the United States Military Academy. Real world deployments took him to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia (FYROM), and Iraq over the course of his career. He retired from active duty in 2012 on ‘The Plain’ at West Point.
Following his military service, LTC(R) Morris transitioned to the financial services industry in the New York City area, where he held roles in technology development, corporate human resources, and as a financial advisor. He earned his MBA from Tarleton State University and holds professional certificates from Syracuse University in Cyber Security and Human Resources.
LTC(R) Harris Morris is married to Jeanne Morris, and together they have two children. In his free time, he remains actively involved with the West Point community. He serves on the United States Military Academy Field Force in Northern New Jersey, helping local high school students through the West Point admissions process, and is engaged with his local American Legion Post. He joined the West Point Association of Graduates in January 2025.
