This episode of the WPAOG Podcast features a conversation with Dr. Chris Gibson, President of Siena College hosted by SOSH Department Head, COL Heidi Demarest ’01.

In this episode Dr. Chris Gibson, President of Siena College, discusses with SOSH Department Head, COL Heidi Demarest ’01, about the current state of civil-military relations, the controversial use of social media as a means for free speech, and the future for military nonpartisan norms. The USMA academic year of 2022-23 is dedicated to the study of the military officer’s role and relationship with society and civilian leaders.

Dr. Gibson served district NY-19 in the U.S. House of Representatives, commanded 2BCT, 82nd Airborne Division in Haiti, served four combat tours in Iraq, was part of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, and taught in the USMA Department of Social Sciences (SOSH) from 1995-98.
