Top Ten Frequently Asked Reunion Questions

Access and Parking

1. How do I enter West Point?

Visitors 18 years of age and above without a valid (not expired) Department of Defense issued identification card must report to the Visitor Control Center at 2107 New South Post Rd, West Point, NY 10996 for a background check. Please bring a copy of your State Driver’s license or a passport. For more Information click this link:

Graduates may sign-up for a Grad Pass (for you and everyone in your group). This must be done 3 business days prior to your arrival. For more information, click this link: https://www.westpointaog.org/gradpass

2. If I decide not to use the Reunion Bus, where can I park?

Parking is extremely limited in the Central Post area of West Point, the vicinity of the academic buildings and barracks. Parking in this area requires a staff/faculty parking decal. Parking passes are not issued to visitors except on football game Saturdays.

On Monday-Friday, parking is generally available in the following areas: Visitor’s Center (West Point Museum Parking – off post), Buffalo Soldier Field, old PX parking lot (near the cemetery, K Lot on the West Point Map), Most Holy Trinity Chapel, and Herbert Alumni Center, and by Gillis Field House.

There is a North South shuttle bus that makes stops at Buffalo Soldier Field (bus stop is located on the parking level just below the Post Office), Thayer/Cullum Road, Mahan Tunnel, Library Corner, Clinton/Cullum Lot, Thayer Statue, Buildings 667A and 618, Washington/Buckner Road, Keller Hospital, and the Post Laundry. The shuttle is available between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday except Federal holidays and arrives and departs from its designated locations approximately every 30 minutes.

3. Do I have access to Central Area, Thayer Hall, or the C-store during the reunion?

The Cadet Personnel area (the Cadet Barracks, Cadet Mess, Cadet Store, Academic Buildings, and Flirtation Walk) are restricted to cadets and USMA staff and faculty at this time.

Registration

4. Can I cancel my registration? What is the refund policy?

Anyone can cancel their registration with their unique confirmation code that will be sent via email upon registering.

Registration fees are non-refundable. Individual events can be cancelled up to 2 weeks from the start of the reunion date.

5. What does the registration fee include?

Registration fees consist of three parts: the user experience (event software, mobile apps (optional), nametags, lanyards, bags); memorabilia (optional; selected by your Class Reunion Committee); and overhead (items that every attendee will pay for as determined by your Class Reunion Committee – such as rentals, printing, audio/visual services, and WPAOG’s
Full-Service Event Support fee). Meals are not part of the registration fee and are priced as optional events you can pick and choose to attend.

6. What does WPAOG’s Full-Service Event Support fee include?

WPAOG’s Full-Service Event Support includes email communication, hotel contract negotiation, vendor coordination, menu planning, registration management, program design, and staffing and execution of the Reunion.

The Full-Service Event Support fee serves to enhance the programs and services WPAOG provides to the Long Gray Line. The tasks provided by WPAOG are operated as a service, and not for profit. Any fees collected are used to offset less than half the expense to provide this service. We are fortunate to be in the position to provide this service at reduced rates due to generous donors to the Long Gray Line Endowment.

Dietary and Special Needs

7. I have a dietary restriction/food allergy. Can my diet be accommodated?

During the registration process you will be able to select from a limited drop-down menu a list of allergy restrictions that our vendors are able to accommodate. If you don’t see your allergy on the list, please make alternate accommodations for your meal. Also, please note that if you select an allergy from the list a separate meal will not be provided, but we will make sure you’re your preference is included in the overall reunion menu.

for this?
