Roz Johnson is a proud 1992 graduate of the United States Military Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She later received a Master of Science in Engineering Systems Management from Texas A&M University in 2000. Roz also holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential—a globally recognized designation that demonstrates her commitment to ethical and effective fundraising, leadership in the philanthropic sector, and broad expertise across core fundraising competencies.

After graduating from West Point, Roz served six years as an Ordnance Officer, with assignments in the 2nd Infantry Division in the Republic of Korea, the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, and the 3rd Signal Brigade at Fort Hood. She also spent more than 20 years as an active-duty military spouse, during which she held leadership, administrative, and fundraising roles with nonprofit organizations and taught mathematics as an adjunct professor at Colorado Christian University.

From 2017 to the present, Roz has served on Congressional Academy Nomination Boards—first for Congressman Denny Heck in Washington, and since 2019 for Congressman Jimmy Panetta in California—supporting the nomination of exceptional young leaders to the U.S. Service Academies.

Before joining the West Point Association of Graduates, Roz served as the inaugural Associate Director of the Alaska Airlines sponsored Veteran and Military Resource Center at the University of Washington Tacoma. In that role, jointly reporting to the Registrar and the Assistant Vice Chancellor for External Relations, she led efforts to support UWT’s 18% military-connected student population, helped establish the region’s first Military-Connected Career Development Specialist position through a Boeing grant, and worked with military bases on academic and leadership programming. She also facilitated partnerships between the university, state agencies, and community organizations on veterans’ issues. From 2015 to 2019, Roz served as the primary liaison for Fellows in the U.S. Army War College’s Asia-Pacific Fellowship program at the University of Washington.

In 2018, Roz was honored as Advisor of the Year by Student Veterans of America, a national organization representing over 1,500 student veteran chapters.

Roz and her husband, COL (Ret.) Dave Johnson (ROTC – Iowa State University), live in Santa Cruz, California. Their son Tommy graduated from Yale University in 2021, and their daughter Emily graduated from Penn State University in 2023.

Roz joined the WPAOG Major and Leadership Giving Team in December 2020. As a remote team member, she focuses on cultivating relationships with West Coast donors in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Colorado.
