USMA 2018 CFT Graduation, Class Flag Presentation & Run Back

As the Class of 2018 finished Cadet Field Training on July 26, members of their 50-Year Affiliation Class of 1968 were on hand to “Grip Hands” and mark the occasion by presenting the newly-promoted cadet corporals with a class flag, which will now be displayed at all Class events at West Point. An integral part of the 50-Year Affiliation Program, the presentation of the class flag strengthens the bonds between the classes and reinforces the ideals of West Point and the values of the Army. The next day, the yearling Class of 2018 completed its 7.15 mile Run Back to West Point from Camp Buckner.

"Years of a Century Told" Video Now Available Online

In April, five living West Point superintendents came together for a wide-ranging panel discussion titled “Years of a Century Told,” hosted by the Class of 1965, and attended by the Class of 2015. Moderated by journalist Chris Wallace, the panel addressed challenging topics such as the introduction of women to the Academy, West Point’s diversity initiatives, the rise of discretionary punishment in Honor Code violations and West Point’s relevancy to the Army and the nation. With moments of levity about beating Navy, Spirit Missions and the famous Mess Hall Riot of 1963, this historic video links 100 years of West Point graduates as the guidon of leadership is passed to a new generation.
