Celebrate! WPAOG’s 150th Anniversary Video & Virtual Toast

This year is a celebratory one for WPAOG as we reflect on the 150 years of rich history of the organization and significant contributions of its members. Watch our 150th Anniversary video highlighting our mission to support West Point and its graduates, elevating the cadet experience with exceptional programs, and maintaining and renewing the ties that bind. To celebrate WPAOG’s birthday, graduates and friends of West Point are encouraged to participate in our Virtual Toast taking place on Wednesday, May 22. Email us if you have questions about the Virtual Toast.

Meet Dan Priatko ’84, A Man Coach K Greatly Admires

Meet Dan Priatko ’84, A Man Coach K Greatly Admires

On February 20, Dan Priatko ’84 and his father Bill made their annual visit to Cameron Indoor Stadium to watch a college basketball game from seats that celebrities might have trouble scoring. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski ’69 always seats them right behind the Blue Devils’ bench, no matter who the opponent is. This visit marked the 25th consecutive year that the Pittsburgh-area residents will attend a game at Duke. That streak is symbolic of their friendship with Krzyzewski but only skims the surface of a unique kinship within the Long Gray Lineā€”and a much larger story.

Plebe-Parent Weekend Breakfast

  Plebe-Parent Weekend Breakfast

Nearly 700 parents attended the WPAOG Plebe-Parent Breakfast on March 8, one of the many activities during Plebe-Parent Weekend. For the 9th year, the event brought together families for food and camaraderie, as well as the opportunity to connect with WPAOG staff to learn about the many services and resources WPAOG provides to cadets and their families during their time at West Point and beyond. Patrick Ortland ’82, COO of WPAOG, spoke with families and emphasized the importance of keeping the Long Gray Line connected. We thank family members for all that they do to support their cadets and the mission of the Academy! Photos.

USMA Stand-Down: A Call for Culture Change

  A Call for Culture Change

There were no classes at USMA on Monday February 25. Nor were there athletic events, student group meetings or any other extracurricular activities for the Corps of Cadets. Instead, the entire corps as well as West Point’s military and civilian staff, faculty and coaches spent the entire day participating in a stand-down to begin the process of changing the academy’s culture as it relates to sexual assault and harassment. Full story.

Update Your Register of Graduates Biography

Our 150th Celebration year is a good time to update your career biography in the Register of Graduates. All graduates are now able to review their biographies and submit updates online! We thank you for your patience as we rebuilt this feature during our recent system upgrades, and we hope that all graduates will help us continue the project initiated by General George W. Cullum, Class of 1833, to chronicle the careers and service to the nation of all West Point graduates.
