Class of 2018 Graduation

  Class of 2018 Graduation

The 220th West Point graduation took place May 26, when 972 members of the Class of 2018 (“With Strength We Lead”) received their diplomas at Michie Stadium and completed their challenging 47-month experience at West Point. The Class of 2018 included 12 combat veterans, 10 honor graduates, and 11 international cadets. Gen. Joseph Dunford Jr., 19th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was the speaker. His address focused on the changing environment of the character of war and the importance of anticipating and adapting to those changes. A delegation from the Class of 1968, USMA 2018’s 50-year affiliate, presented a set of second lieutenant’s bars engraved “68-18” to each graduate as they officially joined the Long Gray Line. All Academy Challenge: USMA Beats Navy, Achieves Record Participation

  All Academy Challenge Results

During the five-day 2018 All Academy Challenge from May 31-June 4, the West Point community came together in record numbers to strengthen the Margin of Excellence: 7,848 alumni, including 363 first time donors to West Point, donated gifts totaling $1.2 million. For the fifth time, West Point competed against the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine Academies to see who could get the highest alumni participation rate. This year a record 16.22% of the Long Gray Line participated, a significant increase from the 9.17% of graduates who donated last year. Thank you to all who “Took the Challenge.” Your enthusiasm and support did more than just beat Navy, it will have a profound impact on the entire Corps of Cadets and further the mission of West Point. See the 2018 All Academy Challenge results and final class standings.
