Vogt ’10 & Family Move into New Smart Home

Vogt ’10 & Family Move in to New Smart Home

CPT Nick Vogt ‘10 has a brand new, state-of-the-art home, thanks to the Gary Sinise Foundation. Vogt lost both legs while deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. The Gary Sinise Foundation's R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) built him, his wife and son a specially-adapted smart home in Richland County, Ohio. They broke ground last September, and on July 14 the Vogts moved into their new home, which has special adaptive features for Nick to maximize independent living. Actor and humanitarian Sinise, who portrayed “LT Dan” Taylor, a combat veteran who loses his legs in wartime in the film Forrest Gump, was the 2015 recipient of the WPAOG Thayer Award. Read more.
