Army Wins Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl

West Point Cadets with Heart of Dallas Bowl Trophy

It came down to a tied score 31-31 at the end of the fourth quarter. With the first possession at the beginning of overtime, Army drove down the field and found itself in a fourth-and-goal situation. A confident Coach Monken chose to go for it, and the Black Knights converted from three yards out after Jordan Asberry rushed into the end zone for his sixth career touchdown. North Texas could not get past Army’s defense when their turn came, and so the Army West Point football team defeated North Texas 38-31 to win the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl. The victory marked Army's first bowl win since the 2010 Armed Forces Bowl and the first time the Black Knights reached eight wins since the 1996 season, when they went 10-2. The team set two Heart of Dallas Bowl records: 480 running yards, and six rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw was named the game's most valuable player with 129 yards rushing, including a score. Full Story.
