Make It A Three-Peat! Army Victorious Over Navy

Make It A Three-Peat! Army Victorious Over Navy

The Army West Point football team has turned the tide on rival Navy by defeating the Mids for the third straight season following a 17-10 victory on December 8. After suffering heartbreak after heartbreak to their nemesis for so long, the Black Knights have strung together three in a row and claimed the Commander in Chief’s trophy in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history. Full story. Class of 1985 Spirit Shines for Army-Navy

Class of 1985 Spirit Shines for Army-Navy

Looks like the Class of 1985 takes the 2018 award for most public #BeatNavy Spirit Mission, greeting thousands of travelers to Philadelphia with a “Go Army!” message prior to the game! They had billboards along I-95 north and southbound from NYC to Philly and along the PA Turnpike too. They also got over two dozen billboards in center city, and all the electronic signage (every baggage claim, food court and information board) in every terminal at PHL. One classmate, James Clarke ’85, who climbed to the summit of K2, Earth’s second highest peak (8,611 m / 28,251 ft) on July 22, recorded a special “Beat Navy!” message from the top that USMA shared. For Excellence We Strive!

COL(R) Pat Reardon ’86 was born in 1963 in Vietnam as Nguyen Duc Do. His father, Huy Duc Nguyen, was a nurse in the South Vietnamese Army during the war who met an American civilian doctor, Dr. Pat Reardon, serving in Vietnam on a humanitarian mission. The two were such good friends that Dr. Reardon became young Nguyen Duc Do’s godfather. When the situation began to deteriorate in South Vietnam late in the war, Mr. Huy made plans to send Nugyen Duc Do and his sister to America to grow up with Dr. Reardon. Pat attended West Point with the Class of 1986, and one of his final assignments in the Army was as the Senior Defense Official in Hanoi. The stories of a family split apart by the Vietnam War, the compassion of an American Doctor, and the successful pursuit of the American Dream combine to show the human side of the Vietnam War.
