Cadet Curtis Valencia ’16 conducted research for his thesis at the U.S. Army Peacekeeping & Stability Operations Institute, where he gained a greater understanding of the Army’s role in advising foreign countries that have experienced mass atrocity. Advanced research opportunities like these are offered through the Academy Scholars Program, which the Superintendent considers a strategic priority for the Academy. As is true for all Margin of Excellence opportunities, the Academy Scholars Program is strengthened by donations from graduates, family, and friends and cannot be sustained on appropriated funding alone.
