A WPAOG Director Or Advisor Must:

1.  Be dedicated to the ideals and principles for which the WPAOG stands, be sincerely interested in promoting the welfare of the United States Military Academy, and be willing to serve its graduates.

2.  Be capable of attending all meetings of the Board or Council and any committees or task forces to which he or she is assigned.

“Capable of attending” means being financially able and willing to afford the travel to and from West Point and able to afford the time away from his or her profession.

3.  Exemplify the motto of West Point:  a Director or Advisor must have a high and well-defined sense of duty, be a man or woman of unblemished integrity, and be patriotic.

4.  Be physically able to travel, attend meetings, and participate actively in those meetings.

5.  Be willing to work on projects and programs, apart from Board or Council meetings, with enthusiasm and interest.

6.  Financially support West Point in keeping with his or her ability through individual or class gifts, and be willing to assist the Association in donor cultivation and solicitation.

7.  Be nominated and provide critical background information in accordance with our Director and Advisor Nomination Policy.
