CPT Jordan Crockett '14 Honored

Class of 2014 Honor Jordan Crockett '14Several Class of 2014 Army West Point football players recently returned to West Point to dedicate a football locker to their deceased classmate CPT Jordan Crockett '14. When the teammates gathered after Jordan’s funeral in 2019, they made a plan to honor him and celebrate his passion for life and Army Football. Jordan was a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course and Sapper Leader Course. He was a member of the Army Football Team as a defensive back (2010-2014) and is remembered as a true servant leader whose positive attitude was contagious.

Class of 2014 Honor Jordan Crockett '14CPT Jonathan Crucitti ‘14, who helped lead the effort, reflected on the significance of the dedication and its meaning to the group. “To see Jordan’s name on that locker allowed each of us to reflect on just how special of a person he was. Many of us met Jordan for the first time in this locker room and to pull our efforts together to etch his name permanently into this Academy and the football program is incredible.”

The dedication took place as a part of a small ceremony where Jordan’s brother, Julian Crockett ’14, and his parents Ray and Donna were present and honored. It was an emotional and beautiful morning. For most of these teammates and their young families, returning this fall for the locker dedication was the first time they had returned to West Point, and the locker room, since their days at the Academy.

“This was the culmination of a complete group effort,” Crucitti said. “These guys and their families all sacrificed over time to reach this goal in memory of Jordan.”
